Dairy Farm Manager
Dairy Farm Manager – High Performance Herd – Northern Ireland – County Derry / Londonderry – £45,000 + Accommodation Negotiable
The Job:
A rare opportunity has arisen for an experienced and proactive Dairy Farm Manager to take a key leadership role on a forward-thinking, high-performing dairy farm in Northern Ireland.
This is a new position, created to support the continued growth and innovation of a pedigree Holstein herd. The role is ideal for someone looking to step into a trusted, hands-on leadership role, reporting directly to the farm owner and taking full operational responsibility for day-to-day herd and milking management.
Key Responsibilities:
– Oversee daily milking operations (6am & 4.30pm), ensuring procedures are consistently followed
– Supervise and support part-time/relief staff
– Manage feeding, yard work, youngstock shed hygiene, and general herd health
– Ensure animal husbandry and welfare standards are upheld to the highest level
– Monitor and aim to improve milk yields.
– Assist with maintaining tidy, efficient sheds and a clean working environment
The Candidate:
– Experienced in Dairy Farming. They would also consider an Assistant Dairy Farm Manager or Dairy Herdsperson looking for their next step
– Calm, reliable and self-sufficient – someone who can be trusted to take initiative
– Hands-on, with a keen eye for detail and high standards of stockmanship
– Comfortable leading small teams and taking responsibility
– Passion for progressive dairy farming and willingness to maintain a high-performing system
The Package:
– £35,000 – £45,000 per annum, depending on experience
– Accommodation possible (e.g. mobile home – negotiable)
