The company has a clear strategy for growth in the UK and internationally and is at a pivotal stage of expansion.
The Role
As Commercial Manager, you will play a central role in driving, coordinating, and expanding the business’s UK trade and commercial activity. You will report to the senior leadership team and be responsible for repeating and expanding current business growth, ensuring that the commercial strategy is fully aligned across sales, supply chain, and the breeding programme.
You will manage a small team of 3–5 direct reports, fostering collaboration and high performance, while maintaining close alignment with the breeding and technical teams to maximise opportunities across the market. The role requires a balance of strategic oversight and hands-on involvement in developing and maintaining strong customer relationships across the UK potato supply chain. The role offers a blended office/remote structure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and expand commercial growth across UK trade and supply chain operations.
- Manage and develop a team of 3–5 direct reports, ensuring delivery against commercial objectives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with growers, processors, packers, and retailers.
- Lead business development, identifying opportunities to expand variety adoption and secure new partnerships.
- Work closely with the breeding teams to ensure alignment of variety development with market demands.
- Oversee supply chain planning and logistics to ensure effective, profitable delivery.
- Represent the business at trade shows, grower events, and industry meetings.
- Contribute to strategic planning, budgeting, and reporting to senior leadership.
The Candidate
- Proven experience in commercial management within agriculture, potatoes, fresh produce, or wider agri-food sectors.
- Strong understanding of UK crop supply chains and commercial trade.
- Demonstrable success in driving sales growth and managing supply chain operations.
- Leadership experience managing teams (3–5 reports).
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Able to work 3 days a week from the Milnathort office, with flexibility for remote work.

- £60,000 – £80,000 base salary (total package up to £100,000).
