The Transport Planner supports the daily coordination of bulk liquid and solid movements within a fast paced anaerobic digestion (AD) and agricultural logistics operation. Working closely with the Transport Manager, you will schedule vehicles, manage contractor activity and adjust plans in real time to ensure efficient, compliant and timely delivery of services. You will act as a key link between drivers, contractors and site teams, ensuring smooth communication and operational continuity while maintaining safety and environmental compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Planning and updating daily/weekly transport schedules for tankers and bulk haulage.
- Optimising routes, capacity, and vehicle utilisation.
- Coordinating drivers, contractors and site operations.
- Responding to breakdowns, delays and operational changes.
- Maintaining compliance records and supporting KPI reporting.
- Ensuring adherence to transport, environmental, and H&S regulations.
Candidate Profile
- Experience in transport planning, logistics coordination or a similar operational role.
- Confident working in a fast paced environment and capable of managing multiple moving parts in real time.
- Strong IT skills (Excel, Outlook, transport/telematics systems).
- Understanding of driver compliance (WTD, driver hours, operator licence rules).
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to problem-solve under pressure and adapt quickly.
- Experience in bulk haulage, agriculture, waste or AD environments (desirable).

- Salary: £38,000 – £42,000 DOE.
