An established rural property and land management business is seeking an experienced Senior Surveyor / Associate to join its Property & Forestry team, based in Castle Douglas with regular work at client sites. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious and commercially minded surveyor to take responsibility for a varied portfolio of rural estate management and consultancy work, while also helping to develop more junior members of the team. Reporting to the Director, Head of Property & Forestry, you will work as part of an experienced team delivering retained estate management services and a range of consultancy projects.
Key responsibilities:
- Managing day to day rural estate management matters
- Providing strategic advice to rural estates and landowners
- Advising on landlord and tenant matters, property management and property rights
- Taking projects from inception through to completion
- Assisting with compulsory purchase and utility scheme work
- Managing client instructions from start to finish
- Preparing fee estimates and quotations
- Supervising, coaching and mentoring junior surveyors
- Building strong relationships with clients and other professional advisers
- Identifying opportunities to develop new and existing client relationships
- Working collaboratively with colleagues across different disciplines to deliver wider services, including valuations, diversification, renewable energy, grant sourcing, business planning, agency and farmland investment
- Contributing to the growth and development of the department and wider business
The Candidate:
- MRICS qualification
- CAAV qualification or be working towards it
- Strong technical skills and relevant rural property experience
- Demonstrable business development experience
- Good knowledge of the rural property market
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Full UK driving licence
- A commitment to professional standards, CPD and continuous development
