Broiler Farm Manager
An experienced Broiler Farm Manager is required to lead the day‑to‑day operations of a brand‑new, purpose‑built broiler unit.
The role involves managing flock performance, operational efficiency and staff leadership while maintaining the highest standards of bird welfare and bio‑security.
It offers a key position in establishing one of the UK’s leading broiler operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all day‑to‑day operations of the broiler farm, ensuring excellent bird welfare and production performance.
- Monitor flock health, production data and key performance indicators to drive continuous improvement.
- Maintain the highest standards of bio‑security, hygiene and compliance with industry regulations and assurance schemes.
- Control environmental systems, feed, bedding and all aspects of flock management.
- Lead, motivate, and develop the farm team, creating a positive and high‑performing culture.
- Work closely with veterinarians, nutritionists, technical specialists and senior management to optimise performance.
- Maximise productivity through the effective use of modern technology and automated farm systems.
- Represent the business professionally during customer, supplier and stakeholder visits.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, sustainability and overall farm performance.
Qualifications
- Previous experience managing or operating in a senior role within a commercial broiler production environment.
- Strong technical knowledge of broiler production, bird welfare, bio‑security and modern poultry management systems.
- Proven ability to lead and develop teams while driving operational performance and continuous improvement.
- Experience monitoring production data, analysing flock performance and implementing improvements.
- Excellent organisational, communication and problem‑solving skills with a proactive approach.
- Full UK driving licence; relevant poultry or agricultural qualifications and experience with highly automated facilities would be advantageous.
- All applicants must hold a minimum of an NVQ Level 2, Scottish NVQ Level 2, or an equivalent qualification relevant to the role.
Candidates must also have the legal right to work in the UK or hold a valid visa permitting employment.
