The Job: We are looking for a Welder / Fabricator to join an established engineering and manufacturing business producing specialist equipment for the food processing sector. This is a hands on role involving fabrication, welding and assembly, working from engineering drawings and producing accurate, high quality components and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fabricate and weld metal components and structures to engineering drawings and specifications
  • Carry out MIG and TIG welding, along with cutting, grinding and other fabrication processes
  • Assemble fabricated components and machinery as part of wider equipment builds
  • Use welding and fabrication equipment safely and effectively
  • Check completed work for quality, accuracy and correct dimensions
  • Support equipment modifications, repairs and bespoke fabrication projects where required
  • Identify and report any issues with materials, drawings or finished work
  • Maintain a clean and organised working area and follow all health, safety and quality procedures

The Candidate:

  • Previous experience in welding and fabrication, ideally within an engineering, manufacturing or machinery production environment

  • Practical experience with MIG and TIG welding, together with general fabrication, cutting and finishing techniques
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality, accurate work
  • Reliable and safety conscious, with a methodical approach and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • A relevant welding/fabrication qualification, apprenticeship or equivalent practical experience would be advantageous
