Service Engineer - UK Sites-Competitive Salary + Vehicle + Benefits

The Job:

We are looking for a Service Engineer to provide installation, servicing and technical support for specialist food processing and industrial equipment across the UK. This is a customer facing, field-based role suited to an engineer who enjoys practical problem solving and working independently on a variety of machinery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, commission, service and maintain equipment at customer sites throughout the UK
  • Carry out planned maintenance, inspections and repairs to keep machinery operating reliably
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical faults, using technical drawings and schematics where required
  • Provide on-site and remote technical support to customers, including guidance on equipment operation and maintenance
  • Deliver basic operator and maintenance training where required
  • Complete service reports, maintenance records and other documentation accurately
  • Identify opportunities for replacement parts, upgrades and additional service requirements
  • Assist with equipment modifications and improvement workWork in line with company health, safety and quality procedures

An established engineering business supplying specialist equipment to customers within the food processing and industrial sectors. The business provides technical solutions and ongoing support, with this role offering the opportunity to work with a varied range of equipment and customers across the UK.

The Candidate:

  • Previous experience as a Service Engineer, Maintenance Engineer, Field Engineer or similar, ideally working with industrial machinery, food processing equipment or comparable systems
  • Strong mechanical and electrical fault finding skills, with the ability to diagnose problems and carry out effective repairs
  • Confident reading technical drawings, electrical schematics and equipment documentation
  • Engineering qualification, apprenticeship or equivalent practical industry experience
  • Customer focused with good communication skills and the confidence to explain technical issues clearly to customers
  • Self motivated and organised, comfortable managing your own workload while working in a field based environment
  • Full UK driving licence with the flexibility to travel extensively throughout the UK and provide occasional call out support

Candidate Requirements

All applicants must hold a minimum of an NVQ Level 2, Scottish NVQ Level 2, or an equivalent qualification relevant to the role applied for. Candidates must also have the legal right to work in the UK or hold a valid visa permitting employment.
