Farm Management Consultant - North Oxfordshire - £40,000 - £60,000 +Paid Mileage + Benefits
The Job:
This is an excellent opportunity for an agricultural professional looking to develop their career within farm management and consultancy. You will work with a diverse portfolio of farmers, landowners and rural businesses, providing practical and commercially focused advice across a range of farming enterprises. The role combines practical farm management, financial analysis, strategic business planning and agricultural consultancy, with the opportunity to take responsibility for individual clients and projects as your experience develops.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with farm owners, managers and contractors to develop and implement farming policies that meet client objectives
- Review farm accounts, prepare budgets and cashflow forecasts, and monitor financial performance
- Develop short, medium and long-term business strategies to improve farm performance
- Prepare and manage applications for agricultural grants, subsidies and environmental schemes
- Advise clients on agricultural policy, environmental legislation, health and safety and regulatory requirements
- Identify and support diversification, development and new income opportunities
- Support the recruitment, management, appraisal and development of farm staff
- Provide advice on precision farming, agricultural technology, crop rotations, soil health and livestock management
- Support the management of Contract Farming Agreements (CFAs)
- Advise on and support grain marketing activities
- Assist with the management of rural property and estates
- Liaise with agronomists, accountants, land agents, solicitors and other professional advisers
- Prepare reports and present recommendations to clients

The Candidate:
- Degree in Agriculture, Land Management, Farm Business Management or a related subject
- Practical agricultural experience, ideally within farm management, estate management, agricultural consultancy or a related environment
- Strong understanding of commercial farming and rural businesses, with knowledge of farm accounts, budgets and financial analysis
- Understanding of agricultural policy, grants, environmental schemes and regulatory requirements
- Strong communication, report writing and relationship-building skills
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail, with strong IT skills including Microsoft Office and Excel
- Proactive, practical and solutions-focused approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
Candidate Requirements
- All applicants must hold a minimum of an NVQ Level 2, Scottish NVQ Level 2, or an equivalent qualification relevant to the role applied for.
- Candidates must also have the legal right to work in the UK or hold a valid visa permitting employment.
