An excellent opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Assistant Farm Manager to join a progressive arable and root vegetable farming business in Kent. This role would suit someone looking to take the next step in their career within a growing and forward-thinking operation. Working closely with the Farm Director, you will play a key role in the management and development of the onion enterprise, with responsibility across crop production and day-to-day farm operations. This is a hands-on position, ideal for a committed individual who enjoys being actively involved on farm and leading by example.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting the Farm Director with the management of the onion enterprise
- Spraying operations and ensuring best practice is followed
- Overseeing day-to-day farm operations
- Managing and implementing irrigation systems and crop water requirements
- Involvement in harvest, crop storage and post-harvest operations
- Supporting the agronomist during crop walks and implementing recommendations
- Working alongside and supporting other members of the farm team
