A leading land based college is looking to appoint an Agricultural Lecturer to join its established and forward thinking department. This is a great opportunity for someone from an agricultural background looking to move into education, or an existing lecturer seeking a new challenge within a well resourced and supportive environment. You’ll be delivering a mix of practical and classroom-based teaching, helping students develop the skills, knowledge and confidence needed for a successful career in agriculture.
Key Responsibilities
- Delivering engaging and practical agricultural teaching sessions
- Supporting, mentoring and guiding students throughout their studies
- Assessing coursework and monitoring student progress
- Maintaining accurate records and supporting quality standards
- Contributing to curriculum development and course delivery
- Building industry links to enhance student learning opportunities
- Supporting open days, events and wider college activities
The Candidate
- Strong background in agriculture (livestock, arable, or mixed farming)
- Passion for developing the next generation within the industry
- Confident communicator with good organisational skills
- Ability to engage and motivate learners of all levels
- Teaching qualification (desirable, not essential – training can be provided)
- Practical, hands on industry experience essential
