We are working with an established education provider seeking an experienced Agricultural Engineering professional to join their team as a Lecturer in Agricultural Engineering. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced agricultural engineer looking to move into education and use their practical industry knowledge to develop the next generation of agricultural engineers. You will deliver practical and technical training, supporting learners to develop the skills and knowledge required for a successful career in agricultural engineering.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver practical and technical training in agricultural engineering, machinery maintenance and servicing
  • Teach fault finding, diagnostics and mechanical and technical repairs
  • Support learners in the safe and effective use of modern agricultural machinery, diagnostic equipment and technology
  • Share current industry practices, manufacturer requirements and relevant technical standards
  • Use your industry experience to develop learners' practical skills and technical understanding
  • Support learners' development and progression towards careers within the agricultural engineering sector

The Candidate

  • Experienced Agricultural Engineer or engineering professional with a strong practical background
  • Hands on experience servicing, maintaining, diagnosing and repairing agricultural machinery, equipment or similar
  • Recognised qualification at SCQF Level 6 or above (equivalent to Level 3 in England) in Land based Engineering or a related discipline
  • Experience of relevant manufacturer training programmes and modern diagnostic technology
  • Strong technical knowledge with the ability to communicate complex engineering information clearly
  • Passionate about sharing practical knowledge and supporting the development of others
  • Candidates from automotive, HGV or heavy plant engineering backgrounds with transferable skills will also be considered

The Package

  • Salary£41,000 - £45,000 per annum DOE

Candidate Requirements

All applicants must hold a minimum of an NVQ Level 2, Scottish NVQ Level 2, or an equivalent qualification relevant to the role applied for. Candidates must also have the legal right to work in the UK or hold a valid visa permitting employment.
