Regional Sales Manager - The Job Role Details:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Regional Sales Manager to take ownership of the UK and Ireland territory, managing and developing an established distribution network while identifying opportunities for further commercial growth. Working closely with distributors, dealers, dairy farmers and internal teams, you will drive sales activity, support major project opportunities and help strengthen the company's market position across the territory. This is a home-based role with travel throughout the UK and Ireland, so candidates can be based flexibly provided they are well positioned to cover the territory effectively. This is a commercial, relationship-led role requiring a strong technical affinity and genuine interest in agriculture. The successful candidate will act with a business-owner mindset for the territory, combining dealer development, project-based sales, commercial planning and customer support to achieve revenue and margin objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and develop the distributor and dealer network across the UK and Ireland, driving engagement and sales performance.
- Support distributors and dealers in securing major dairy and livestock projects, providing commercial input during complex negotiations.
- Identify new business opportunities while developing existing dealer and customer relationships.
- Deliver agreed revenue and margin targets across milking equipment, spare parts and milking hygiene products.
- Develop and implement the territory's commercial strategy in collaboration with the Sales Director and wider management team.
- Work closely with technical and after-sales teams to deliver excellent customer service and long-term account growth.
- Monitor market and competitor activity, maintaining accurate sales forecasts, pipeline reporting and commercial insight.
- Travel extensively throughout the UK and Ireland, with occasional international travel.
Essential Candidate Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in agricultural, dairy, livestock, machinery, equipment or related B2B sales
- Experience in project-based sales and/or developing a distributor or dealer network
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to manage sales, budgets and margin objectives
- Strong technical affinity and a genuine interest in the agricultural and dairy sectors
- Confident relationship-builder with strong listening, influencing and negotiation skills
- A proactive "business owner" mindset with the ability to take responsibility for a large territory
- Efficient, structured and methodical approach to territory and workload management
- Strong diplomacy and customer-service orientation
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Full driving licence and willingness to travel extensively throughout the UK and Ireland
Desirable:
- Existing knowledge of the UK and Ireland dairy industry
- Previous experience selling milking equipment, dairy technology, agricultural machinery or capital equipment
- Established relationships with agricultural dealers, distributors or dairy farmers
- Experience supporting large-scale or complex capital equipment projects
- Additional language skills, particularly French, German or Dutch
Working Hours: Full-time, home-based position with a high degree of autonomy. Travel throughout the UK and Ireland is expected to support distributors, dealers and customers, with occasional international travel where required.
