As a Soft Fruit Grower Manager, you will be responsible for the full lifecycle of berry crops including strawberries, blackberries, raspberries, and blueberries. You will lead growing operations, oversee crop quality, manage seasonal teams, and ensure compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day growing operations for strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, and blueberries
  • Monitor crop development and apply best practice agronomy techniques
  • Lead, motivate, and manage picking and husbandry teams throughout the season
  • Conduct regular crop walks to assess crop health and plan harvest schedules
  • Ensure full compliance with health & safety, food safety, and environmental standards
  • Support irrigation planning, pest and disease management, and nutrient applications
  • Maintain detailed records on crop performance, inputs, and compliance
  • Operate and assist with field machinery and tractor work when required
  • Communicate effectively with a multicultural seasonal workforce
  • Contribute to the farm's sustainability, biodiversity, and regenerative practices

Ideal Person Skills & Qualifications:

  • A strong background in soft fruit production and crop husbandry
  • Hands-on experience growing strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, or blueberries (preferred)
  • A proactive and detail-focused approach to growing operations
  • Proven leadership and team management skills
  • A valid UK driving license (tractor or machinery skills beneficial)
  • Good communication skills - fluency in Russian or an Eastern European language is a bonus
  • Knowledge of food safety, health & safety, and environmental compliance within horticulture
