The Job Role Details: As Agricultural Mechanic and Fitter, you will work on the maintenance and servicing of equipment in the fresh produce washing and packing facilities, as well as working with a range of agricultural harvesters and cultivation machinery on farm. This is a hands-on role requiring technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out routine maintenance and inspections on a variety of equipment, including fresh food and produce equipment and agricultural machinery.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical issues, replacing faulty components as needed.
- Conduct functionality tests to ensure smooth operation.
- Weld, fabricate, and assemble parts to meet operational needs.
- Utilise hand tools and power tools effectively to complete repairs and servicing tasks.
Ideal Person Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a similar role, such as Mechanic or Maintenance Engineer.
- Experience in the agricultural, farming or fresh produce sectors.
- Strong mechanical knowledge and technical aptitude.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and technical diagrams/manuals.
- Skilled in welding, assembly, and fabrication work.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work well within a team environment.
