We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Sales Development Representative (SDR) to join our sales team working across Land Leisure & Tourism and Farm Business Innovation. This is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to build a career in sales. You will focus on generating new business opportunities through outbound activity including phone calls, emails and LinkedIn outreach. Your main goal will be to identify and qualify potential exhibitors and sponsors, then pass high‑quality leads to the wider sales team. Reporting to the Head of Sales, you will play an important role in supporting the growth of our events portfolio while developing valuable sales skills in a fast‑paced commercial environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Make outbound calls and emails to prospective exhibitors and sponsors
  • Generate and qualify new business leads for the sales team
  • Research companies and identify potential commercial opportunities
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of prospects using the CRM system
  • Book meetings and appointments for senior sales team members
  • Follow up inbound enquiries and marketing leads
  • Support exhibitor retention through regular communication and relationship building
  • Keep CRM records accurate and up to date
  • Work closely with marketing and operations teams to support campaign activity and exhibitor delivery
  • Attend industry events when required to support lead generation and networking

Skills & Experience

  • Confident communicator with a professional and friendly phone manner
  • Comfortable making high volumes of outbound calls
  • Positive, resilient and self‑motivated attitude
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Eager to learn and develop a career in sales
  • Strong appetite to work towards targets and KPIs
  • Team player with a collaborative approach
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and willingness to learn CRM systems
  • Previous customer service, telesales or sales experience is desirable but not essential
  • Interest in events, media or agriculture is a bonus
