Responsibilities
- Build and manage a strong pipeline of qualified prospects through cold calling, networking, referrals, and market research.
- Arrange meetings with decision‑makers and deliver tailored logistics solutions, in addition to developing lasting relationships with key stakeholders in target accounts.
- Stay ahead of market trends and competitor activity in the cold chain logistics space to identify emerging markets and market shifts while being fully aware of new products and competition status.
- Book and attend client meetings; identify, pitch, and secure full, part‑load and storage opportunities.
- Represent the company in all sales meetings, events, and conferences.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual sales reports.
- Travel regularly across the UK and occasionally to Europe as required.
Qualifications
- A proven track record as a Sales Manager/Hunter or New Business Development Manager within a logistics/transport company.
- Experience in refrigerated transport, cold chain logistics, food distribution, or FMCG logistics.
- Exceptional prospecting, negotiation, and closing skills combined with strong interpersonal and leadership abilities.
- Ability to work independently, understand and analyse sales performance metrics, and manage the full sales cycle.
- An existing network within the food manufacturing, retail, or wholesale sectors is highly desirable.
- A drive to develop your own customer base from outreach to account management.
- Competency with Microsoft Excel and other IT systems to create regular reports and detailed statistics.

Florette is one of three UK food manufacturing factories within Agrial Fresh Produce Ltd, an autonomous part of the 17,500‑employee French co‑operative group Agrial. The business operates mainly under the recognisable Florette salad brand and is one of the UK\’s leading producers. The site processes and distributes pre‑packed, ready‑to‑eat, fresh salad bags and bowls to well‑known supermarkets, retailers, restaurants and fast‑food vendors, selling an average of 600,000 kg of products every week. Agrial has operations across 11 countries, with 100 industrial sites, and a 2024 turnover of €7.1 bn across five food divisions—Beverage, Dairy, Meat, Fresh Produce & Agricultural operations.
