We have an exciting opportunity for a BUUK Assistant Financial Accountant to join our team at Florette in Lichfield, WS13 8NF.
This role provides support and assists with all aspects of the financial accounting, reporting, tax and treasury functions.
Working hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week
Pay: Circa £32,000
Main Responsibilities:
- Take ownership of assigned month-end responsibilities to support the timely production of management accounts including the preparation of monthly management accounts and supporting analysis.
- Full ownership of the Fixed Asset Register – maintenance & reconciliation, Depreciation postings, monitoring spend – actual vs authorised and audit of assets to enable register to move from excel to ERP.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations, investigate variances and resolve outstanding items.
- Ownership of the quarterly intercompany reporting and reconciliation process.
- Preparation of journals including payroll, accruals, prepayments etc.
- Ad-hoc support in the following areas: expenses, bank reconciliations, bank payments, preparation of data for group reporting, prep/analysis of data for tax reporting, monthly KPI data, provision of analytical support of account spend as requested and supplier maintenance.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Minimum 2 years' experience in an accounting or finance role.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, including accruals and prepayments.
- Experience supporting month end close processes and preparing balance sheet reconciliations.
- Advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP and data analysis.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritise workload effectively.
