We have an exciting opportunity for a Payroll Administrator to join our team on a Part-Time basis at Florette in Lichfield, WS13 8NF. The Payroll Administrator is responsible for ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time while maintaining detailed financial records. The Payroll Admin will gather and verify timesheets, expenses, and overtime records from various departments, as well as support the Payroll Lead in entering employee data into payroll systems, including new starters, leavers, and changes to bank details or salaries. This role is 22.5 hours per week, and the working hours can be flexible for the candidate at the requirements of the business.
Working hours and pay
- Working hours: 22.5 hours per week. Either 3 days per week on 7.5 hours, or 5 days per week on 4.5 hours, across Monday to Friday. Flexible at the requirements of the business.
- Pay: £26,175 per annum pro rata (£15,705).
Main Responsibilities
- Entering employee data into payroll systems, including new starters, leavers, and changes to bank details or salaries.
- Gathering and verifying timesheets, expenses, and overtime records from various departments.
- Assisting with the calculation of deductions such as PAYE tax, National Insurance, and statutory payments like SSP (Sick Pay) and SMP (Maternity Pay).
- Acting as the first point of contact for staff queries regarding pay, taxes, and deductions.
- Generating payroll reports for management and ensuring all submissions meet HMRC deadlines.
- Maintaining secure and confidential electronic and paper filing systems in line with GDPR.
- Supporting the Payroll Lead with any other ad hoc duties.
Skills and Experience Required
- Previous experience of working in a payroll/HR function is highly desirable.
- Previous experience of an administration role, with a desire to learn.
- Well organised and detail-oriented.
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities with strict deadlines.
- Understanding of employment costs and calculations (tax, NI, SSP, SMP) is desirable.
- Experience in customer-facing roles and assisting employees with payroll-related questions.
