We are recruiting a Production Area Manager to oversee day-to-day food manufacturing operations, ensuring reliable, efficient production of fresh food products within budget and to the required quality standards.
Main Responsibilities
- Lead and organise the production area team, ensuring resources meet production plans and productivity targets.
- Provide clear leadership, motivation, and support to team members.
- Manage daily and weekly KPIs, resolving issues quickly and driving continuous improvement.
- Monitor production costs (yield, labour, waste) to ensure performance within budget.
- Ensure accurate and timely data entry into the ERP system.
- Maintain compliance with production procedures and Quality Manual requirements; ensure full traceability and audit readiness.
- Oversee equipment maintenance, working with Engineering to minimise downtime and plan preventative maintenance.
Skills & Experience Required
- Minimum 5 years’ manufacturing experience with short-life products.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience managing teams in a fast-paced production environment.
- Level 3 Food Safety and IOSH Health & Safety qualifications.
- Proven ability to lead and develop large production teams.
- Strong understanding of lean manufacturing.
- Experience using ERP systems.
