We're looking for a Product & Procurement Specialist to join our team and oversee a portfolio of moist and liquid co-products. This role moves quickly and centres on commercial priorities, with each day presenting new challenges. You'll be responsible for balancing supply and demand, supporting site clearance, managing margins, and making commercial decisions that deliver the ideal outcome for the business.
Working closely with Product Coordinators, suppliers, sales teams and other stakeholders, you'll play a key role in ensuring products keep moving while identifying opportunities for new business and supply growth.
What You'll Be Doing
- Taking ownership of an aligned portfolio of moist and liquid products.
- Making site clearance a priority, working closely with Product Coordinators to respond to changing production volumes.
- Balancing supply and demand across seasonal and day-to-day fluctuations.
- Managing product margins and making commercially sound decisions.
- Building effective relationships with suppliers, sales teams, on-farm sellers and other stakeholders.
- Interpreting market information and trends to support decision-making.
- Responding quickly to unexpected challenges and finding practical solutions.
- Supporting opportunities to secure new products and develop new business.
- Participating in the team's out-of-hours weekend on-call rota.
What We're Looking For
- Experience managing products, categories or a similar area of commercial responsibility.
- Experience managing margins and making commercial decisions.
- The ability to interpret market data, trends and wider commercial factors.
- Ability to manage responsibilities and deliver measurable outcomes.
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-moving environment.
- Ability to work on your own initiative.
- Solid communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Flexibility to travel and adapt working hours when required.
Agricultural experience would be beneficial but isn't essential. We're particularly interested in candidates with experience in procurement, product management, category management, supply chain, commodities or other commercially focused environments where balancing supply, demand and margins is a key part of the role.
Additional Information
The current expectation is a minimum of four office days per month, split between Peterborough and Sherburn, although flexibility is available depending on business needs. During your first few months, you'll spend more time in the office to support training, system learning and relationship building across the team.
