Salary: £43,584 - £46,712 (£47,304 - £49,515 with effect from 1 August 2025)
Department: Agri-Food and Biosciences Institute Northern Ireland (AFBI)
Location: AFBI Headquarters, Newforge Lane Belfast, BT9 5PX. They may also be expected to work at other AFBI sites as required.
The successful candidate will be required to work at sea in inclement conditions within a team of scientists for up to a total of 50 days per year on trips of up to two weeks duration on research and chartered vessels engaged in scientific studies.
Further permanent and fixed term appointments may be made from this competition should AFBI positions become vacant which have similar duties and responsibilities.
