An exclusive opportunity has arisen within a London based Family Office that is seeking a Tax Manager to manage the tax matters of two Founders, and their related entities. Reporting directly to the CFO/COO.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Your key responsibilities are:
- Oversee and coordinate all tax related matters for the founders and optimising tax strategy:
- Manage tax compliance
Direct - personal tax, corporation tax, partnership tax, trust tax etc
Indirect – VAT
- Tax strategy and planning e.g. succession planning. Thinking proactively for the family office and in particular forward looking and as a result raising valuable matters for the family’s consideration
- Identifying tax optimization opportunities and modelling tax impact;
- Reviewing of investment and sale opportunities, advising on appropriate structures for such investments.
- Work closely with tax, legal & investment advisors.
- Ad hoc projects.
KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
This is a very hands on role (with a certain degree of admin).
We’re looking for an experienced chartered tax accountant (Minimum 4 years PQE) with strong UK tax experience & technical depth (private client, fund and corporate). Exposure to foreign taxes- US & Europe (e.g. Italy) is desirable. The family office holds investments in several different jurisdictions, e.g. in the US, Europe and further afield. An important part of the role is understanding how the UK tax system interacts with the local tax regime of each of these investments, including matters such as withholding tax and double tax treaties.
Key skills and experience include:
- Established experience of working in a similar position in family office or in private client practice;
- Confidential and professional nature
- Confident and comfortable working directly with the founders
- Proactive and ability to communicate complex tax matters clearly
- High degree of meticulousness and commerciality
- Team player - collaborative but also able to work independently with minimal supervision
