A London-based single family office is seeking an experienced Tax Manager to oversee the tax affairs of two Founders and their related entities. Reporting directly to the CFO/COO, this is an exclusive opportunity for a technically strong and commercially minded tax professional. This is a full-time position with hybrid working available.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate all tax-related matters for the Founders, optimising tax strategy across the following areas:
- Manage tax compliance:
- Direct - personal tax, corporation tax, partnership tax, trust tax
- Indirect - VAT
- Coordinate tax enquiries
- Tax strategy and planning, including succession planning; proactively identifying and raising forward-looking matters for the family's consideration
- Identifying tax optimisation opportunities and modelling tax impact
- Reviewing investment and sale opportunities and advising on appropriate structures
- Working closely with tax, legal, and investment advisers
- Support ad hoc projects as required
Candidate Profile
- This is a hands-on role requiring a strong degree of initiative and attention to detail.
- The ideal candidate will be a qualified chartered tax accountant with a minimum of 4 years' post-qualification experience (PQE), and strong UK tax technical depth across private client, fund, and corporate matters.
- Exposure to foreign tax regimes, including the US and Europe (e.g. Italy), is desirable.
- The family office holds investments across multiple jurisdictions, and an important aspect of the role involves understanding how the UK tax system interacts with local tax regimes, including matters such as withholding tax and double tax treaties.
