The role combines strategic oversight, hands‐on implementation and coordination of external advisers across tax, accounting and wealth management.
This is a newly created position, responsible for building and professionalising the family's finance infrastructure following a significant liquidity event.
Key ResponsibilitiesFamily Office & Structural OversightDesign, implement and lead a family office–style finance function from the ground up. Oversee cash and asset flows between the holding entity, family investment companies and operating businesses.
Establish and maintain appropriate financial controls, processes and reporting across all entities.
Ensure accurate and timely consolidated reporting for the principals.
Intercompany & Entity ManagementStructure, document and manage intercompany loans (including interest calculations and reconciliations).Maintain books and records across multiple entities, including investment vehicles and trading companies.
Oversee transfers of funds to and from operating businesses (e.g.
real estate, healthcare, construction, leisure or similar sectors).Personal Finance & PayrollManage personal payrolls and related payments for family members and connected individuals.
Oversee personal cashflow management and coordinate with external wealth managers on implementation of investment decisions.
Tax, Regulatory & Jurisdictional OversightAct as a "second eye" on tax and regulatory risk, particularly where principals are resident in different jurisdictions to the corporate entities.
Work closely with external tax advisers to ensure: Correct corporate residency treatment.
Proper handling of VAT, withholding tax, CIS and related obligations.
Ad-hoc DRC reviews may be required.
Structures are robust and future exit or transaction events are well planned.
Ensure recommendations from advisers are appropriately challenged, interpreted and implemented.
Governance, Risk & ReportingDevelop clear governance frameworks and approval processes around significant capital movements, investments and distributions.
Produce regular, understandable reporting for principals covering: Net worth, liquidity and commitments.
Performance of investment and operating entities.
Key risks, upcoming decisions and tax considerations.
Stakeholder & Adviser ManagementServe as the primary internal counterpart to external accountants, tax advisers, lawyers and wealth managers.
Coordinate and challenge advisers to ensure advice is practical, coherent and aligned with the family's objectives.
Build trusting relationships with principals while maintaining appropriate professional independence.
Candidate ProfileExperienceSenior finance leader (e.g.
CFO, Group Financial Controller, Head of Family Office) with experience in: Private family office, single‐family office, UHNW, or complex private holdco / investment structures.
Managing multi‐entity, multi‐jurisdiction environments with significant intercompany activity.
Strong technical grounding in: Consolidated reporting and entity structuring.
Tax‐aware cashflow management and financing between entities.
Working closely with external tax, legal and accounting providers.
Skills & AttributesHigh levels of integrity, discretion and personal trustworthiness; comfortable overseeing large personal and corporate wealth.
Hands‐on and pragmatic: able to operate in an environment that is being professionalised from a relatively lean starting point.
Strong judgement and risk awareness, especially around tax and regulatory matters.
Excellent communication skills, able to explain complex structures to non‐specialists and provide clear recommendations.
Education & Qualifications (Indicative)Qualified accountant (e.g.
