Ag Reserves is seeking Harvest Operators to assist in the day-to-day operational duties which may include operating heavy machinery and general maintenance for Harvest 2026.
Summary
Ag Reserves is recruiting Harvest Operators to support day-to-day farm operations during the YEAR harvest season.
This role involves operating farm machinery, assisting with crop handling, and carrying out general farm duties in a fast-paced, outdoor environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate farm machinery including telehandlers, tractors, and grain carts.
- Carry out grain carting, cultivations, hedge and grass cutting, and general fieldwork.
- Support and learn irrigation processes where required.
- Complete tasks independently and work effectively as part of a team.
- Maintain a high standard of farm appearance and care for machinery, facilities, and equipment.
- Follow all safety procedures and attend required training and briefings.
- Telehandler work, grain carting, some cultivations, hedge & grass cutting and other general work.
- Work well independently on tasks and collaboratively as a teamwork.
- Become familiar with irrigation processes.
- Potato work such carting and harvesting, location dependent (Goole).
- Upkeep farm appearance and strive to help maintain the value of the equipment, facility, and its assets.
- Champion all safety guidelines to keep self and team members safe at work and attend all training and meetings to keep current on updated procedures and regulations.
Qualifications
- Must be aged 18 or over
- Full driving license
Desirable
- Telehandler certificate (e. g. NPORS / NPTC)
- PA1 and PA2 spraying certificates
- Counterbalance forklift certificate
- Basic workshop / mechanical skills
- Familiarity with GPS guidance systems (e. g. John Deere Green Star)
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Physical Demands & Working Conditions
- Ability to operate agricultural machinery for extended periods in varying weather conditions (including heat, cold, rain, and dust).
- Regularly required to sit for prolonged periods, with frequent climbing in and out of machinery.
- Ability to carry out physical tasks including lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling (typically up to 20–25 kg).
- Good hand–eye coordination and manual dexterity for operating machinery and performing maintenance tasks.
- Ability to work safely around moving equipment, chemicals, and uneven terrain.
- Required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including respiratory protection when necessary.
- Willingness to work extended and flexible hours during peak seasonal periods (e. g. planting and harvest).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced outdoor environment.
