At Awanui Veterinary, we are increasing our offerings and commercial presence throughout the country to enable better choice, service and technical support to our veterinary and food production customers.
As our new South Island Business Development Manager, you’ll preferably be based in either Christchurch or Wellington. You will lead both the customer strategy and execution of our value-based annual plan to deliver growth across Awanui Veterinary, Awanui Scientific and Fond Farewells.
This includes:
- Identification, development and execution of key strategic projects to generate and secure ongoing new revenue streams
- Growth and retention of assigned existing key accounts
- Strategic development of new business accounts.
Specifically, you will:
- Take ownership of the opportunity pipeline
- Be accountable for customer service, support and relationship management
- Develop and deliver business proposals from pipeline to contract
- Actively contribute to the development of annual and long-term strategic plans
- Collaborate with key internal stakeholders including marketing, product managers, laboratory managers and key technical personnel.
Your area of focus will predominantly be production animal Vet Groups and Vet Practice key accounts. We’ll also support you as you develop the skills required to deliver growth within our food production customers and Companion Animal key accounts.
Competencies required to be successful include:
- A strong commercial PA background
- Well-developed key account business planning skills
- Commercial acumen with proven strategic development skills
- Financial and computer literacy
- Ability to undertake fly/drive planned travel
