The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Scientist to join our cutting-edge Solid-State Battery R&D team. This is a rare opportunity to play a pivotal role in the advancement of semi-solid or all-solid-state battery (SSSB/ASSB) technologies at the frontier of next-generation energy storage. This role is ideal for a driven and pragmatic innovator who thrives on solving complex challenges and delivering real-world results.
What You’ll Do
- Design, develop, and optimize key components of SSSB/ASSB cells, including catholytes, anolytes, separators, and high-capacity active materials.
- Lead the assembly and electrochemical testing of R&D-scale pouch cells.
- Investigate failure modes and develop strategies to improve cell performance and safety.
- Address manufacturability and scale-up challenges with practical, data-driven solutions.
- Collaborate across cross-functional R&D teams to drive interface engineering innovations.
- Contribute to the development and protection of IP where applicable.
What We’re Looking For
- Direct, hands-on experience in the SSSB or ASSB space, ideally at a globally recognized battery innovator.
- Proven ability to design and test multilayer pouch cells or equivalent.
- Deep understanding of current trends in cell design, materials chemistry, component integration, and stack pressure optimization.
- IP knowledge (e.g., patent filing, FTO analysis) is a plus.
- We are not currently seeking academic candidates unless they bring significant industrial experience.
Ideal Background
- A formal qualification in Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related Engineering field is advantageous but secondary to practical experience.
- Prior roles at industry-leading battery developers or manufacturers will be highly regarded.
