Quality Manager, Quality Control Laboratory
Location: Agratas, Bridgwater, England, United Kingdom
Your role as a Quality Manager, QC Lab will be to oversee all quality activities during the supplier incoming material so that the material received does not only meet the product technical specifications, but also all Agratas and customer specific requirements. You will interrelate between the supplier quality team and the manufacturing team, leading the problem resolution process effectively in the IQC area. You will regularly participate in groups to improve the product and the manufacturing process from the time a new product is introduced to the end of its life cycle. You will also interact with other Agratas manufacturing facilities worldwide, sharing knowledge and establishing good practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing all activities within the Incoming Quality Control (IQC) Laboratories.
- Identify and recommend best testing equipment contributing to the design of the labs based on requirements (e.g. BET, TGA, LECO, PSD, tapped and true density, etc.).
- Implement thorough control plans and test procedures for products and materials during the incoming material process.
- Experienced in chemical and mechanical testing of raw materials and components in the battery industry.
- Plan logistics and outgoing samples to and from the IQC lab, ensuring immediate collection and return of results to internal customers.
- Assist the team with running analytical tests on a variety of chemical and mechanical instruments.
- Ensure that non-conformities concerning material deviations are reported and addressed immediately, following up on corrective and improvement actions.
- Continuously improve the way the team works and performs analysis to improve efficiency.
- Participate in cross‑functional teams during the launch of new products and processes.
- Actively participate in Process FMEA analysis and implement robust detection and prevention controls.
- Plan for MSA studies together with central quality teams.
- Participate in the change management process as a representative of IQC.
What You\’ll Bring
- Strongly preferred prior experience in a laboratory environment.
- Degree (ideally postgraduate) in Material Science or Chemical/Mechanical Engineering.
- Knowledgeable in Electrochemistry.
- Preferable experience in managing shifts.
- Experience leading and coordinating teams.
- Experience troubleshooting analytical instruments/equipment.
- Knowledgeable of SPC and Lean Six Sigma principles.
- Knowledgeable of quality management systems, e.g., ISO 9001 and/or IATF 16949.
