The Opportunity

Are you a highly organised individual with a passion for coordination, planning, and bringing structure to complex technical environments?

We’re looking for a Prototype Battery Production Planner to join our world-class Cell Technology team in Oxford. This is a pivotal role in our state-of-the-art R&D facility, supporting the delivery of high-tech battery prototype manufacturing by coordinating schedules, materials, and operations across teams.

This role is ideal for a candidate with significant battery production experience, seeking to move into a project coordination and management role or someone with 5 years or more experience in technical project management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Planning & Resource Allocation: Coordinate personnel, equipment, and materials for scheduled tasks. Ensure all required resources are available ahead of time.
  • Scheduling: Collaborate closely with scientists and engineering teams to develop and maintain scheduling plans for R&D prototyping lines.
  • Materials Coordination: Ensure required materials are in place and available for research and development campaigns, working closely with the Prototyping Teams.
  • Project Support: Liaise with the PMO and stakeholders to prioritise campaign efforts, resolve conflicts, and track progress against schedules.
  • Reporting & Communication: Maintain clear, consistent communication with project managers and team leads, highlighting risks, delays, and real-time status updates.

  • Experience with planning, scheduling, or coordination—ideally in a technical or manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with project management tools, techniques, and production workflows.
  • Strong logical thinking and attention to detail.
  • Confident communicator, able to work effectively with both technical staff and leadership.
  • Able to explain planning decisions in a clear, rationale-based manner.

Qualifications

  • A Level 4 qualification in a relevant discipline (e.g. Engineering, Business, Operations), or equivalent experience.
