Agratas is a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Sons. We design, develop and manufacture high-quality, high-performance, sustainable batteries for the mobility and energy sectors. We are a scale-up business with a start-up mentality and the backing of a well-established parent company. The UK business headquarters is in the Midlands and we are currently building a battery manufacturing facility in Somerset and looking to complement, scale and grow our R&D facilities in Abingdon and Coventry with the brightest minds from within the battery and EV sector.

Collaborating with our technical partners, we are industrialising best-in-class high-energy density and long-lasting battery cells. We are recruiting an experienced Packaging Engineer to play a pivotal role in delivering innovative and sustainable packages that bespeak customer and business requirements. This role requires a creative mindset, technical packaging expertise, and strong tactical execution skills to drive the success of packaging solutions in supply chain operations. This is a hybrid working role that will be based in our Coventry office.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Develop packaging solutions for inbound and outbound goods.
  • Build a robust connection with material suppliers and customers to understand and define packaging requirements.
  • Design and develop packaging solutions through to execution.
  • Oversee and coordinate packaging inbound activities with internal teams.
  • Liaise with packaging suppliers to ensure that demands are met and mitigate supply risks.
  • Determine optimal packaging delivery plan with suppliers by balancing carrying cost and availability.
  • Collaborate with internal teams on effective packaging utilisation and change management.
  • Monitor supplier service performance, address any concerns and drive improvement.
  • Manage and optimise supply base.
  • Facilitate connection with internal teams on packaging quality and sustainability related matters.
  • Assisting with ad hoc tasks where needed.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • Proven experience in packaging designing, development and delivery in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, FlexSim, SAP, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Identify risks and challenges for continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate and collaborate with internal across functional teams as well as external stakeholders.
  • Implement projects and execute process improvement initiatives.
