What You\’ll Do and Responsibilities
What You\’ll Do
The H&S and Environmental Manager will be responsible for delivery and coordination of High Hazard, COMAH and operational health, safety, welfare and environmental activities across the Agratas UK business. The role requires broad business awareness and experience, with a good understanding of processes associated with high hazard and COMAH and environmental regulation. The post holder will regularly liaise with senior HSE Inspectors to promote good partnership working arrangements. The role is on-site at the Bridgwater manufacturing site, with support for other sites within the group as required. The ability to establish relationships, solve problems, negotiate, develop and agree outcomes with others, and make decisions in a dynamic environment is required.

We are a scale-up business with a start-up mentality and the backing of a well-established parent company. The UK business headquarters is in the Midlands and we are currently building a battery manufacturing facility in Bridgwater, Somerset.

The Manufacturing team at Agratas is a newly established team focused on transforming the 307-acre Bridgwater site into a world-class manufacturing facility for high-performance battery cells. We are a team of self-motivated engineers and technicians who thrive in a challenging scale-up environment.
What You\’ll Bring
- Health, Safety and Environmental management experience including responsibility for the management of colleagues
- CMIOSH or MIEMA or equivalent
- Experience of working in a high-hazard environment, such as a COMAH regulated site
- Experience in obtaining and managing environmental and safety related consents & permits
- Preferably from a chemicals manufacturing or other heavily regulated industry
Role qualifications
- NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health
- Level 5 NVQ in Occupational Safety and Health Practice
- NEBOSH Diploma in Environmental Management
- Safety, Health and/or Environmental Honours Degree (Bachelor’s or Higher)
- Equivalent qualification in Safety, Health and/or Environmental subject
