If you’re the kind of quality leader who likes building systems that make organisations better at solving problems, this role will give you real scope and ownership. Own and run Agratas’ global problem management approach, using an 8D (8 Disciplines) methodology so issues are raised, triaged, progressed and closed with rigour. Drive adoption and performance by managing the problem management tool, governance, reporting, KPIs and escalation routes so problems do not stall. Build capability across the business by coaching teams and maintaining mandatory problem‑solving training (including Six Sigma‑aligned learning), so strong problem solving scales with growth.
Agratas is a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Sons. We will design, develop, and manufacture high‑quality, high‑performance, sustainable batteries for the mobility and energy sectors. We are a scale‑up business with a start‑up mentality and the backing of a well‑established parent company. The UK business headquarters is in the Midlands and we are currently building a battery manufacturing facility in Bridgwater, Somerset. Our first customers are Jaguar Land Rover and Tata Motors.
You’ll join a small, high‑ambition team building Agratas’ problem management capability from the ground up. Today the team is lean (with 1 direct report and planned growth), but your influence will be enterprise‑wide, partnering closely with PMO, supply and plant quality, product teams, and change management across the UK and India.
Proven experience leading quality or problem management in a complex organisation, using structured root cause and corrective action methods (8D, Six Sigma or similar). People leadership experience (line management), with the confidence to set expectations, hold standards, and bring others with you. Strong stakeholder management: you can align teams with competing priorities and keep progress moving without creating friction. Comfort owning a process and the supporting toolset, including vendor management, metrics, dashboards and performance reporting. A collaborative, practical style and the willingness to work globally (including occasional travel to India, typically 2–3 trips per year).
As a new company, our reward scheme is constantly evolving. We continue to review the market to deliver a competitive benefits package, which currently includes company bonus, additional cash allowances, private healthcare and enhanced parental leave policy. We are committed to promoting work‑life balance, partnering with Yulife to provide our team members with total wellbeing support. You’ll work in a rapidly scaling‑up environment as a subsidiary of the multinational corporation, Tata Sons, to help build the UK’s biggest battery manufacturing facility and make your mark in a new organisation. Agratas is a place to be authentically you. At Agratas we strongly believe that people are at their best when they feel supported and happy in their workplace. To that end we continue to cultivate a diverse workforce which protects the individuality of each team member. We therefore warmly welcome applicants from any race, gender, sexuality and ability. Should you have a preference in how your suitability is assessed for this role or require any reasonable adjustments please let the Talent Acquisition team know.
