What You’ll Do

An exciting new opportunity has become available for a Senior Launch Engineer (Die Design and Coating) within our PMO team.

Report to the Head of Launch Integration, the Senior Launch Engineer provides launch and ramp‑up technical support for a number of manufacturing processes within our Electrode area.

The role supports Global Manufacturing Engineering by defining robust, scalable processes that ensure die performance, coating accuracy, coating stability, and high‑yield production at takt.

Acting as the technical escalation point during new line launches, this SME collaborates closely with equipment suppliers, manufacturing, quality, and assembly teams to stabilise operations from pilot through SOP ramp.

For this specific role, we’re looking for a Die Design & Coating Technology SME who serves as a key technical specialist in precision electrode coating and die design for NMC prismatic lithium‑ion battery manufacturing, enabling stable, high‑quality coating performance during factory launch and ramp.

This role focuses on diagnosing and resolving coating defects such as thickness variation, streaking, edge defects, and coating instability while supporting optimisation of die design, coating parameters and process windows to meet areal loading, adhesion and downstream performance requirements.

  • What You’ll Bring
  • Deep hands‑on experience in lithium‑ion battery electrode processes.
  • Proven expertise and understanding of electrode coating and die design processes.
  • Experience supporting pilot lines, new production launches and high‑volume manufacturing ramps.
  • Experience in yield improvement, SPC, PFMEA, DOE and RCCA methodologies.
  • Experience launching new battery production lines or gigafactories (desirable).
  • Direct experience with automotive NMC or other prismatic cells (desirable).
  • Qualifications in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science or Chemistry.
