AGR are working closely with one of our clients to recruit an Operational Procurement Contract Lead to join their team on a contract basis for an initial 2-year period, and can be based in London, Great Yarmouth or Port of Tyne.

About the role:

This role sits within the operational procurement team and supports the UK operational offshore wind farm assets. This position contributes to the safe and reliable generation of operational assets by providing procurement and contract management support for required third-party contractor goods and services.

The role requires coordination with key internal stakeholders, including plant managers, engineers, marine and logistics, legal, finance, insurance, and other members of the procurement team. It also involves engagement with a broad supplier and contractor network, as well as support for joint venture partner interactions.

The role supports the key operational procurement pillars of:

  • Procurement of third-party goods and services
  • Local supplier relationship management
  • Support for defect and warranty claims
  • Sustainability and circular economy

Key duties and responsibilities:

The key tasks and responsibilities of the role include:

  • Perform establish agreement procurement tasks to meet operational asset needs and demand for third-party goods and services
  • Develop and plan operational procurement strategies and enquiries for strategic and operational procurement activities in line with category strategies
  • Support operational business line teams with scope definition and drafting
  • Develop bidders lists, including sourcing potential new and innovative suppliers and contractors
  • Perform procurement activities such as RFI, RFQ, ITT, evaluation, contract negotiation, and agreement award
  • Manage and coordinating procurement activities, including liaison with internal technical, SSU, legal, insurance, and finance experts

Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with Company’s governing processes, local laws and regulations
  • Maintain specific focus on Integrity Due Diligence, Human Rights assessments, safety, quality, sustainability, and manage commercial and contractual risk
  • Determine supplier qualification audit requirements and implement relevant process

Contract management support:

  • Support agreement start-up activities and implement agreements in company systems
  • Provide input to risk-based follow-up plans to ensure agreement understanding and compliance
  • Lead local supplier relationship management and support business line teams with supplier performance management
  • Supporting defect and warranty claim management
  • Safeguarding correct use of contracts and following up on KPIs
  • Handle contractual issues and agreement changes, including Variation Order Requests, Variation Orders, amendments, options, and requests for rate adjustments
  • Perform contract cancellation and termination activities

Work Experience & Qualifications:

The preferred competence requirements for this role include:

  • Minimum 5 years’ relevant procurement experience
  • Significant experience working with UK contractual agreements
  • Experience working in the offshore wind industry
  • Commercial mindset and approach to working with suppliers and stakeholders
  • Willingness to take responsibility and ownership for work
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Fluent written and spoken English
