The predicted salary is between 50000 - 65000 £ per year.

AGR are working closely with one of our Aberdeen-based clients who are looking to speak with Dynamic Positioning Electrical Engineers who would be willing to complete ad hoc desktop work for ongoing projects, as and when required.

Role Requirements:

  • Prepare DP FMEA reports on behalf of clients – with a specific focus on electrical content

Qualifications:

  • Degree in electrical engineering (or closely related discipline)
  • Strong knowledge of marine/offshore electrical systems (power generation, distribution, protection, propulsion, thrusters etc.)

Core Technical Skills:

  • Robust understanding of DP systems – especially electrical aspects including redundancy, segregation, UPS, bus-tie arrangements etc.
  • Excellent knowledge of class and IMCA rules relating to DP FMEA systems including: IMCA M166, MSC/Circ.645, MSC.1/Circ.1580, FMEA Code of Practice
  • Competence in failure analysis: Identifying single point failures, fault propagation, worst-case failure design intent and electrical failure modes

Relevant Experience:

  • Prior involvement in DP FMEA or FMECA preparation, review, and proving trials – in accordance with IMCA requirements
  • Experience with DP2/DP3 vessel systems, especially power
