AGR are working closely with one of our Aberdeen-based clients who are looking to speak with Dynamic Positioning Electrical Engineers who would be willing to complete ad hoc desktop work for ongoing projects, as and when required.
Responsibilities include:
- Prepare DP FMEA reports on behalf of clients – with a specific focus on electrical content.
Requirements:
- Degree in electrical engineering (or closely related discipline).
- Strong knowledge of marine/offshore electrical systems (power generation, distribution, protection, propulsion, thrusters etc.).
- Robust understanding of DP systems – especially electrical aspects including redundancy, segregation, UPS, bus-tie arrangements etc.
- Competence in failure analysis: Identifying single point failures, fault propagation, worst-case failure design intent and electrical failure modes.
- Excellent spoken and written English.
- Strong report writing capabilities and ability to document technical findings clearly.
- Familiarity with safety standards and assurance processes in offshore/marine environments.
