A well-known retail business has been successfully delivering a major finance transformation and is now looking to go a level deeper. The initial programme has landed well — the focus now is on the detail: how data flows from transactional finance through to group reporting, and making sure R2R is watertight end-to-end.
This is a role for someone who likes getting into the mechanics. You'll trace transactions from source through to the consolidated numbers, tighten the join between sub-ledgers and group reporting, and make the month-end process genuinely robust.
What you'll do:
- Map and refine how data flows from AP/AR through the general ledger to group reporting
- Take ownership of the R2R process end-to-end — reconciliations, controls and close
- Identify and close gaps between sub-ledger detail and consolidated reporting
- Embed strengthened controls around month-end, data integrity and audit, and document procedures back to source
- Work with Finance, IT and any remaining third-party suppliers to resolve issues and maximise system functionality
- Build a prioritised backlog of continuous-improvement opportunities
What we're looking for:
- Strong R2R background with a proven eye for detail across the close and reconciliation cycle
- Deep understanding of data flows from AP/AR sub-ledgers through to group/consolidated reporting
- Finance transformation / ERP experience (SAP, Oracle, OneStream or similar)
- Confident engaging senior stakeholders across the business
- Qualified accountant (CIMA / ACCA / ACA), ideally with a recognised methodology (PRINCE2, Agile, Lean Six Sigma)
