A major, household-name European retail group is preparing for a large-scale finance transformation which will support their continued growth and expansion. Over the next six years, the group will migrate its finance platform from Oracle E-Business Suite to Oracle Cloud across 22 markets, beginning in the UK in September 2026. We’ve been asked to find the techno-functional Oracle specialist who will support the business on all things finance systems.
This is a newly created role at the European HQ and will be a genuine #2 to the European Finance Systems lead. You’ll support the live EBS R12.2 estate today, deputise for the lead where needed and step into the technical design and cutover work as the Cloud migration progresses. It’s a nice mix of systems work, finance business partnering / stakeholder management and BAU oversight. You’re not leading the migration, but you will get that exposure.
About the group: The parent is one of the world's largest health and beauty retail groups with multiple household-name brands across the globe, with brands brought into the group over two decades of acquisitions. They’re privately held, well-funded, operating across multiple consumer sectors and on a clear and sustained growth trajectory.
Why this role? Why now? Joining now means joining ahead of the migration, with time to learn the European EBS estate properly before cutover prep begins, then move with the programme as it rolls country by country over the next six years. The team is intentionally lean: the hiring manager, you, and a junior analyst. You'll get high autonomy, high visibility and direct exposure to senior finance stakeholders across Europe.
Day to day:
- Support across the European EBS estate: multiple retail brands, multi-country, multi-currency
- Hands-on technical work: PL/SQL, Oracle Forms, Reports, Forms Personalization, UNIX scripting
- Functional partnership with finance teams across GL, P2P, AR and Fixed Assets and other finance processes
- Taking new finance projects from delivery into BAU
- Increasing involvement in the Oracle Cloud migration design from late 2026 onwards
What you'll need:
- Proven and hands on Oracle EBS experience
- Strong, hands-on PL/SQL and SQL, comfortable writing and debugging both
- Genuine finance functional fluency: you need to be able to hold a credible conversation with senior finance stakeholders
What you'll get:
- £60,000–£65,000 base (potential flexibility for the right candidate)
- 3 days office / 2 days from home
- A hiring manager who knows the technology and is currently overseeing this remit; so is there in support but will give you the autonomy to do the work
- A six-year transformation programme to anchor the next chapter of your CV
- Career mobility within a global retail group operating across multiple markets
If that's a journey you'd have the right skillset to support them with, then make an application.
