Are you a Commercial Finance Business partner with a passion for Food? We are working with a FTSE 100 Retailer on a great opportunity - a Senior Commercial Finance Manager role partnering a key trading category. This role puts you at the heart of the business; influencing strategy, supplier negotiations, pricing, and daily commercial decisions. If you love working at pace and having an impact, this is one for you!
Leading a team of three, you will own:
- Business Partnering
- Drive the end-to-end financial performance, taking accountability for the P&L, balance sheet and controls.
- Utilise data and analytics to provide insight that challenges the status quo and creates value.
- Use critical thinking to join the dots and spot areas of opportunity or risk.
- Assess the performance of strategic initiatives.
- Track & influence inflation impacts, work with the buying team on commodities and the suppliers, ensuring you pay the right prices to suppliers and identifying areas of opportunity for pricing in store.
- Develop and manage Joint Business Plans.
- Advise on usage of space, price and promotional activity.
- Track and influence events management, ensuring rigour around buys, advising on strategy and overall P&L impact.
- Drive a cash mindset within the commercial teams, with a focus on stock and working capital management.
- Work with the Commercial teams to build and review Budgets and Forecasts.
- Analyse and track weekly and monthly Commercial performance.
- Support in the delivery of Month end and Quarter end reporting by sharing Commercial insights.
- Work with the SSC and Reporting & Analytics teams to optimise reporting capability.
- Support the delivery of significant improvements in Finance capability by participating in programmes and initiatives to build capability across the team.
- Ensure Robust Governance Processes in place across Commercial.
- Work with the SSC to optimise and improve processes that impact Commercial Finance.
- Ensure that Commercial Risks are understood and clear action plans in place to mitigate.
- Support in developing processes around pricing governance.
Who are we looking for?
- Commercial Business Partnering experience in a Retail or FMCG environment.
- Experience and/or understanding of sales to gross profit is essential.
- Ability to communicate with high impact to senior management and business stakeholders.
- Strong leadership experience (you'll have a team of 3 including 2 managers).
- Quick learner, enthusiastic and solution-driven.
- Qualified Accountant – CIMA/ACCA/ACA/CA, with at least 5 years PQE.
- Based in London - 3 days in the office.
