Are you a qualified Financial Reporting Manager who enjoys getting into the detail, fixing broken processes and developing finance teams? This international automotive business (c.£600m revenue, 9,900 units sold last year) is looking for a Financial Reporting Manager to support the Head of Finance and take ownership of group reporting across multiple European and overseas markets.
Having recently shifted from a direct-to-consumer to a dealer-led model and undergone a UK/European restructuring, the business is now focused on tightening financial controls, improving month-end quality and building a stronger reporting function.
You’ll act as the Financial Controller’s number two on all aspects of financial reporting, while leading and developing a small team of qualified accountants.
The role:
- Own monthly financial reporting into the group across multiple entities
- Lead balance sheet reviews, reconciliations and ledger clean-up
- Review month-end results, variance analysis and commentary for review meetings
- Support and co-lead the group audit and statutory reporting process
- Oversee revenue recognition journals, CapEx reporting and key accounting judgements
- Work closely with regional finance teams to challenge and improve local reporting
- Identify gaps/inefficiencies in end-to-end finance processes and drive improvements
- Act as primary point of contact for Group on reporting queries and variance explanations
- Lead, coach and develop two qualified Financial Accountants, with scope to hire an AR head
- Help shape the future structure and ways of working within the Financial Control team
Requirements:
- ACA / ACCA / CIMA (or equivalent) – fully qualified
- Strong experience in financial reporting and month-end close
- Meaningful exposure to audits and statutory reporting (supporting or leading)
- Comfortable interrogating numbers, balance sheets and system outputs, not just producing them
- Proven experience managing and developing finance staff
- Hands-on, detail-focused and comfortable working in an evolving, sometimes ambiguous environment
Location: Central London (4 days in office)
