The Role
The Finance Director will take full ownership of the finance function across the group. The remit is broad and hands-on, with responsibility for designing, building, and leading a modern finance operation from the ground up. The role includes leadership of a 20-person offshore finance team, requiring strong remote management capability, cultural awareness, and the ability to drive performance at scale. Key Responsibilities
- Finance Function Transformation
- Build and professionalise the finance function across the group
- Design and implement robust financial controls, policies, SOPs, and process maps
- Establish clear governance, accountability, and reporting standards
- Leadership & Offshore Team Management
- Lead and develop a 20-person offshore finance team, setting clear expectations and performance standards
- Implement effective reporting rhythms, controls, and communication structures
- Travel periodically to support team alignment, development, and oversight
- Operational & Commercial Finance
- Own financial reporting, management accounts, cashflow forecasting, and P&L oversight
- Partner closely with senior leadership to provide clear financial insight and visibility
- Support strategic decision-making with commercial analysis and scenario planning
- Legacy Issues & Stakeholder Management
- Address and resolve challenges with legacy clients and stakeholders, arising from historical under-management
- Rebuild trust through improved processes, clarity, and communication
- Act as a senior point of contact in complex or sensitive financial discussions
- Prepare and organise financial data into investment-grade due diligence packs
- Ensure the business is audit-ready and capable of withstanding external scrutiny
- Strengthen risk management and compliance frameworks as the business scales
