Central London (Hybrid, 3 days) £55,000 - £65,000 + Bonus + EMI Equity + Benefits
Be part of building the finance function for a high-growth brand, with real equity and a pathway to exit. There's a strong CFO in place – now they need a strong No.2. You'd be a key part in building out their finance capabilities which means you help design the processes, controls and systems yourself rather than inheriting someone else's. You own month-end, cash flow, payroll and reporting from day one. Then, as the business scales, you’d have scope to build and lead your own team. Few roles this early give you that much ownership.
There's real equity here too, through an EMI scheme, and the business is building toward a trade sale in the next two to three years, so the upside has a credible path to becoming meaningful money – not just a dangling carrot. You'd be number two to a well-regarded CFO who's known for developing the people around him, which puts you close to fundraising, strategy and the decisions that actually move the business. You will have autonomy to drive change but with the support structure and mentoring around you to ensure you can sense-check ideas and get help when needed.
What I can say without a doubt, is that this is a role that will really develop your finance capabilities and give you broader exposure than most other Finance Manager roles can offer!
What you'll do:
- Own month-end, management accounts and Board reporting
- Run the cash flow and working capital process
- Build and improve finance processes, controls and systems as the business grows
- Track performance against budget and support forecasting and future fundraises
What you'll need:
- Fully qualified preferred (ACA, ACCA or CIMA), however a standout candidate will be considered if you’re ticking all the other boxes and are close to completing your qualification!
- Solid, hands-on month-end and management accounts experience with proven process improvement capabilities
- A background in an inventory-based, consumer goods business
About the company:
A founder-led consumer brand and Certified B Corp, backed by a consumer-specialist VC. It's gone from bootstrapped start-up to a genuine omnichannel name, stocked in major national retailers and expanding across Europe and into the US (which is a huge growth market for them!). They’re increasing their product range and expanding market share on a global scale, and you'd be joining right as that growth curve steepens.
Hybrid working, 3 days in Central London.
