You’ll build out the finance capabilities for a profitable, bootstrapped consumer brand scaling from 8 figures to something much bigger - and you’ll have real ownership over how that happens. This is the first dedicated finance hire. Finance has been outsourced up to this point and you’re bringing the FD role and strategic finance in house (day-to-day accounting will remain outsourced for now). You’ll own FP&A/commercial finance for a business that has been profitable since day one, grown from a single product to a multi-product portfolio, and now operates across multiple channels, currencies, and geographies. Finance capabilities need to develop to ensure growth is sustainable and this role has the remit, trust, and resources to deliver that.
Your job is to build the financial infrastructure that allows them to sustainably scale all of this.
What you will do:- Own global forecasting and planning: You'll lead operational forecasting across products, channels, and regions - from revenue and margin modelling to cash flow and working capital planning.
- Commercial finance lead: You're the finance lead involved in all major decision making and providing cross-functional strategic support, particularly in growth, marketing, strategy, supply chain, and operations.
- Build financial systems and processes: You’ll enhance reporting, dashboards, and KPIs to improve visibility and decision-making across the business. You will develop processes and capabilities.
- Must have experience leading commercial finance and FP&A within a multi-channel, multi-geography consumer goods organisation (will also consider other retail/tangible product environments).
- Experience in a scale-up or high-growth organisation where you've built processes.
- Hands-on, ownership mentality - you’re someone who’s comfortable getting into the detail and used to solving problems rather than delegating them.
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
They’re a pretty rare thing: a bootstrapped consumer brand that has been profitable from day one. They launched during COVID with a single product and were first-to-market, creating a new category. They’ve since scaled to eight figures / £XXmil annual revenue without raising a penny. The growth has been intelligent, they’ve maintained strong margins and have a loyal customer base. It is not a corporate environment; it’s a small but scaling team, mostly based in London. The culture is collaborative, fast-moving, and pragmatic. You’ll work directly with the founder and senior leadership and you’ll have real influence over strategic decisions, not just financial reporting. The business is at an inflection point: proven model, expanding product range, adding channels and expanding geographies. The right finance leader can unlock the next phase of growth. This role exists because they know that without strong financial infrastructure, scaling gets messy. You’ll be the person who makes sure it doesn’t.
