Agora are delighted to be working with an exciting PE-backed sportswear business in their search for a Financial Controller to join their growing team. With a portfolio of innovative athletic wear brands and a rapidly expanding direct-to-consumer presence, our client has achieved remarkable growth since their private equity backing. They're now setting their sights on international expansion and new product launches, targeting 300% revenue growth over the next three years.

This role would suit an accomplished finance professional who thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments and wants to be instrumental in scaling a dynamic consumer brand. You'll work closely with the leadership team and PE stakeholders, driving financial excellence while supporting ambitious expansion plans. You must be able to independently manage all aspects of financial reporting, budgeting and analysis, and in return you will be provided with significant autonomy, direct access to senior leadership, and genuine career progression opportunities.

What will you be doing?

  • Leading month-end and year-end financial reporting processes
  • Preparing detailed management accounts and KPI dashboards for leadership team
  • Managing budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
  • Supporting due diligence processes for acquisitions and new market entries
  • Overseeing cash flow management and working capital optimisation
  • Partnering with operations teams on inventory management and cost analysis
  • Working with external auditors and ensuring regulatory compliance
  • Leading system improvements and process automation initiatives
  • Providing financial insights to support strategic decision-making
  • Managing relationships with PE investors and presenting financial performance

What would we love to see from you?

  • Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with strong technical skills
  • 5+ years experience in finance roles, preferably in consumer goods/retail
  • Previous experience in PE-backed or fast-growth businesses
  • Strong leadership capabilities and team management experience
  • Exceptional analytical skills with advanced Excel and financial modelling
  • Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting software
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills
  • Commercial mindset with ability to translate numbers into business insights
