Become the first senior finance hire at a profitable, founder-led snacks brand that has doubled in 2 years - and own the numbers through its next stage of growth. I'm partnering with one of the most exciting challenger brands in UK snacking to recruit their newly-created Head of Finance. Founder-led, B Corp certified, profitable, and revenue has doubled in 2 years. They make high protein products made from British ingredients - working only with suppliers that adhere to high-welfare, regenerative standards. Health and sustainability are two of the biggest tailwinds in food and they’re an innovative category leader that ticks both boxes.

Finance has been run by a highly-experienced fractional FD who isn’t stepping away entirely, so you inherit real foundations and have support and a handover - but a clear pathway to becoming a fully fledged FD yourself.

What you'd get out of the role:

  • Exposure to founders and a say in the decision making
  • Pathway to Finance Director (and beyond)
  • Broad role with a commercial remit (genuine business partnering)
  • To shape the finance function of one of the UK's fastest growing snacks brands

What you'll do:

  • Own the P&L of a business that makes what it sells - Manufacturing is in-house. You'll own COGS, margin and the operational drivers behind them, getting closer to how the product actually makes money than most Head of Finance seats allow. This is emphatically not a solely back-office role.
  • Cash, control and reporting - You'll run working capital through a fast-growth phase and build the reporting the founders and their advisory board rely on to steer.
  • Commercial and investor-facing work - Pricing, retail growth decisions and supporting the founders on cap table and investor matters and future fundraising as the business scales.
  • Financial Reporting – own financial reporting processes for the business. You'd be the first full-time senior finance hire, so the function grows underneath you. And your role will grow as the business scales.

What you'll need:

  • Fully qualified accountant
  • Finance experience in a fast-growing product business - food and drink is ideal, but wider FMCG or consumer could work
  • Comfort with cost accounting and cash management in a manufacturing or stock-holding environment
  • Strong financial modelling skills, comfortable building from scratch (3 statement models)

About the company:

A British snacks brand that has gone from start-up to a profitable, category-driving business in a few short years, with expanding retail distribution and an advisory board of proven consumer operators behind it. Sustainability runs through the whole model, from farm sourcing to B Corp certification – so it’s growth you can feel good about!
