Finance Lead: Operations & Supply Chain | Consumer Goods Scale-Up
London (Hybrid)
Build their operations commerical finance capabilities from scratch and own the numbers behind a fast-growing consumer brand's biggest profit levers!
There is massive growth potential for this role.
They’re one of the UK’s fastest growing privately owned consumer brands who were first to market here and in the US, creating a category within a niche that has a multi-multi-billion total addressable market. They've crossed over 8 figure revenue by some way and are set to triple in size in the next few years and when they do exit, it’s going to be huge!
I introduced the Finance Director and this is the 2nd key hire in finance. As finance has been outsourced prior to this stage, you're building clean processes from the ground floor rather than inheriting legacy ones that need a re-do.
You’ll partner with the operations and supply chain teams, report to the Finance Director, and bring financial rigour across sourcing, freight, 3PL contracts and demand planning.
The business is doing well and has got this far. Your job is to build the controls, reporting and commercial finance support that the next stage needs. If you want to play a key role in scaling a market-creating challenger brand, this is definitely the role for you!
What’s on offer
- Clear exposure to senior leadership and decision making
- Great mentor in the Finance Director (there to help when needed but will give you autonomy)
- Chance to scale a business to exit (and the financial rewards that come with it)
- Tangible impact – you’ll look back in 6 / 9 / 12 months and will see huge impact from the work you do (topline, bottomline and process improvement).
What you'll do
- Finance Business Partner – your finance lead for the divisions you support and their “go to” commercial finance person.
- Inventory, COGS and margin - Own inventory accounting end to end, including landed cost by SKU, stock provisions and monthly COGS reconciliation, plus the gross margin analysis behind the business's unit economics.
- Supply chain commercial finance – Scenario planning, financial modelling and business cases. Build the numbers behind procurement, capex, 3PL tenders and other programs, some of the biggest profit levers here. Model FX and tariff impact to shape sourcing and pricing.
What you'll need
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
- Operations, supply chain or inventory-led industry experience, so you understand inventory / COGS / landed cost
- Strong analytical and financial modelling skills, and comfortable building or improving controls
- You must be comfortable in and excited by working in a scaling business. Growth is exciting but causes challenges, you need to understand what that looks like and thrive in a rapidly growing environment.
