An interim Senior Financial Accountant is required for 6 months to support a fast-growing consumer brand's finance function during a period of continued expansion and systems change. Reporting to the Finance Manager, this role will play a key part in ensuring the integrity of financial reporting and supporting improvements across processes, controls, and systems.

This is an opportunity to join a dynamic, product-led business operating across both wholesale and e-commerce channels, working closely with teams across operations, production, logistics, and FP&A.

About the role:
  • Lead the month-end close process, including journals, accruals, reconciliations, and preparation of financial statements.
  • Act as the technical accounting expert, ensuring compliance with UK GAAP and internal policies.
  • Manage stock accounting, fixed assets, lease accounting (IFRS 16), and cash-flow activities.
  • Perform detailed balance sheet reviews and ensure accuracy across all reconciliations.
  • Support process improvements, documentation of best practice, and strengthening of internal controls.
  • Play a key role in the ERP implementation: UAT testing, integration with reporting, and supporting go-live.
  • Prepare monthly and year-end reporting and support audit requirements.
  • Manage VAT returns and broader tax compliance activity.
  • Collaborate with FP&A and operational teams to ensure accurate reporting of inventory, COGS, and business performance.
About you:
  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with strong technical grounding.
  • Background in wholesale, e-commerce, consumer products, or similar environments is advantageous.
  • Experience working in a fast-changing environment with exposure to process improvement and system changes.
  • Strong Excel and data-handling capability.
  • Confident communicator able to partner cross-functionally.
