- Head of Group FP&A | Listed Consumer / Ecommerce Group
- London (Hybrid, 2 Days)
Own the numbers behind a listed group’s results and be the person the CFO turns to when the story needs telling.
This is the number 2 seat in Group FP&A (or CFO minus 2 in terms of group structure).
You’ll report to the Group FP&A Director and work directly with the CFO and CEO, so you’ll have real influence over how the business plans and talks to the market.
The finance team runs lean.
There’s no separate investor relations team, so the financial content for results, investor presentations and market updates sits with you.
Never done IR before?
That’s fine.
A strong FP&A background matters more, and it’s a great way to add listed-company results experience to your CV.
It suits someone who likes pace.
Results windows are short and intense, the bar is high, and you’ll go from building the analysis to presenting the answer to the leadership team in the next meeting.
- What you’ll do
- Group planning
- You’ll lead budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning across the group.
You’ll also own staff cost and opex budgeting with the People team and functional leads.
Very much business facing.
- Results and investor content
- You’ll pull together half-year and year-end results materials, board papers and trading updates.
Group reporting handles the look back.
You turn it into a clear forward-looking story, with the analysis behind every number.
- Team and process
- You’ll manage and develop a Senior FP&A Analyst and improve the planning systems and processes as you go. Also dotted line oversight of the Divisional Heads of FP&A.
- What you’ll need
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Senior FP&A and commercial finance leadership experience, including budgets, rolling forecasts and long-range plans
- Proven experience of presenting to a CFO, CEO and Board, and to challenge their assumptions
- Happy being hands-on.
If your current role evolved to mostly reviewing a large team’s work, you'll need to be able to show in interview you're still in the detail and happy with being there.
- Consumer, ecommerce or retail experience is needed (group structure exposure, ideally listed)
- About the business
A listed, multi-brand consumer ecommerce group with its head office in London and brands across the UK and Europe.
Benefits include a pension, private healthcare, mental health support, a learning allowance and up to 20 days a year working abroad.
