Finance & Operations Associate | Consumer Venture Capital
We're partnering with a leading consumer-focused venture capital firm to hire a Finance & Operations Associate.
Investing in early-stage businesses across the UK, Europe and internationally, this is a great opportunity for someone with a strong grounding in fund accounting who is looking to broaden their experience across fund finance, portfolio reporting and the wider operations of a VC.
Hands-on fund accounting experience is essential for this role.
The role:
Working closely with senior finance and investment stakeholders, you'll support fund finance, investor and portfolio reporting, alongside the day-to-day financial and operational management of the business.
This is a varied, hands-on role offering the opportunity to build on your existing accounting experience, take on greater responsibility and gain broader exposure within a growing, entrepreneurial VC firm.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting fund accounting, financial reporting and fund performance analysis
- Working closely with fund administrators, auditors and external advisers
- Supporting capital calls, distributions and investor reporting
- Reviewing portfolio company financial information and coordinating quarterly reporting
- Supporting management accounts, budgeting, forecasting and cash-flow reporting
- Assisting with investor administration, corporate governance and wider business operations
- Helping improve financial and operational processes, making better use of data, automation and technology
What we're looking for:
We're looking for an ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualified accountant, or someone working towards qualification, with strong accounting fundamentals and hands-on fund accounting experience.
Experience within venture capital, private equity, fund administration or professional services supporting investment funds would be particularly relevant, alongside a good grounding in financial reporting and analysis.
You'll be commercially curious, highly organised and comfortable working with different stakeholders. You'll enjoy taking ownership, working collaboratively and contributing to the smooth running of a growing business.
An interest in technology, AI and finding smarter, more efficient ways of working would also be advantageous.
Location:
London - 4 days per week in the office.
