Experience Requirements & Role Expectations
- 6+ years of full‑time experience as a product designer for digital or web‑based products; in‑house experience highly preferred.
- Create visually stunning, intuitive, and delightful interfaces, and independently deliver pixel‑perfect UI and seamless interactions.
- Proficient in both quantitative and qualitative research, with hands‑on experience running user interviews, synthesizing findings, and generating actionable insights to inform design decisions.
- Take full ownership of the design process for a dedicated scrum, from discovery to delivery.
- Partner with product managers to shape product vision and roadmap.
- Has experience of managing multiple stakeholders within an agile development process.
- Strong communicator who can articulate design rationale, influence stakeholders, and build trust across disciplines.
- A strong portfolio of work that demonstrates your design thinking, process, and solutions showcasing beautiful, user‑centered web and mobile product design.
Candidate Must Have
- Fluent in English and Japanese with strong communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Experience designing for Japanese users, with an understanding of local expectations around clarity, information density, trust signals, and visual hierarchy.
- Experience working for an Online Travel Agency or consumer‑facing products.
- Experience conducting research within the Japan market with an understanding of the cultural nuances, and ability to analyze user insights that lead to product decisions.
- Deep familiarity with Japanese digital products and user behaviors, including common patterns in e‑commerce, travel, and mobile experiences.

- Develop design solutions that address both business objectives and customer needs.
- Manage and communicate with stakeholders to ensure alignment and on‑time delivery of features.
- Test prototypes and hypotheses with users to gather actionable feedback.
- Present your work to peers and leadership, both asynchronously and in person.
- Participate in weekly design critiques, workshops, all‑hands, and team meetings.
- Document your design process and clearly articulate your decisions.
- Champion cohesion and consistency in UX design across our expanding suite of products and features.
- Bring a strategic vision to implementing experiences that balance customer needs with business, content, and technology.
